We were working on an Unfair Competition and California Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) class action case in Santa Clara County when we decided to bring in Alexis and Beth. Our clients sought legal remedies from a dating website, Positive Singles, which had copied its users’ profiles and posted them on other dating websites without our clients’ permissions. One of our biggest problems was that our clients had agreed to the dating website’s terms of service before using the site, and the terms of service included potentially posting users profile information on other sites owned by the parent company, Successful Match. Alexis and Beth worked with us on pre-trial research, jury questionnaires, graphics consulting, and jury selection. Their theme development and case strategy consulting was top-notch. Their recommendations for our witnesses and trial graphics marked a turning point in our case and led to our ability to connect with the jurors. With Alexis and Beth’s help, we won a $1.7 million award in compensatory damages and $15 million in punitive damages. From start to finish, they offered insights that helped us win a groundbreaking verdict for our clients.
